lure of the orange orb

All Orb-ites should like the Globefish, if indeed round circles are your thing. A gorgeous graphic identity of an orange Globe marks this new sushi place in Kensington. Formerly The Saigon, a Vietnamese restaurant I liked very much, the place has undergone a transformation. I received a tip about the barbecue squid ($12.95) and went to explore.

The dish is wonderful. The squid is grilled, and served as one long piece, cut into cylinders that are still attached. Globefish also serves up a series of interesting rolls. We paired the squid with the Rapture Roll ($12.95), Prawn Tempura, cucumber and avocado roll wrapped with a spicy mix, served with tobiko, green onion, unagi and spicy sauce.

Someone at Globefish is into festive names. Roll names include Power of Love, Mango Paradise, Pacific Melody, and straight to the point: The Delicious Roll (chopped scallop, crab, avocado and papaya wrapped with prawn.) It's a welcome addition to the sushi scene. - JP
